2017 Chris Bourg Workshop Monday, 10 July 2017

Tuesday 4 July 2017

In this workshop, Chris Bourg, Director of Libraries at MIT, will describe the work of the MIT Task Force on the Future of Libraries. The Task Force was charged with developing a vision of how the MIT Libraries could evolve to best advance the creation, dissemination, and preservation of knowledge, not only to support MIT’s mission but also to position the Institute as a leader in the reinvention of research libraries. Chris will discuss how the Task Force was formed, how it accomplished its work, and will share the vision and recommendations described in the report of the Task Force. Chris will then facilitate a discussion of approaches to strategic planning and faculty/community engagement, building on lessons learned from the MIT experience.
