Springer to acquire Papers

Springer Science+Business Media has reached an agreement to acquire Mekentosj BV and Livfe Ltd, developers of the leading reference manager software Papers. (November 2012)

Springerlink website shut down as of 31 March 2013.

Access to the usage statistics for the old Springerlink will remain available from Metapress until the end of 2013. These will be accessed through the client.metapress.com site only. A permanent COUNTER compliant solution to accessing these statistics will be provided in the course of 2013. Administrators will shortly receive email notification regarding the closure of the orange site and instructions on how to access to the Metapress usage statistics.

Springer Expands Agreement with Portico

NEWS 27/6/09: Springer has expanded its agreement with the Portico digital preservation service by naming Portico as a mechanism for perpetual access (also known as post-cancellation access) for journal titles currently preserved in the archive. Through Portico, nearly 500 participating libraries now have another reliable “back up” option, if needed, for continuing access to subscribed content. ....feel free to contact us at libraryrelations@springer.com

A new multi-product licence has been brought into use. This means that standard terms and conditions will apply across all products. All customers should sign this and then additional products will be an addenda to the main licence.  An electronic method for signatures/ approval of contracts called Docusign is being implemented.  (20/10/10)
